एतद्देश प्रसूतस्य सकशादाग्रजन्माना स्वं स्वं चरित्रं शिक्षेरन प्रुथिव्यम सर्वमानावः Eta desha prasutasya sakashadagra janmana svam savam charitram shiksheran prithivyam sarva maanavaha All inhabitants of this earth should learn about living and building character from the ancient sages and seers who took birth in this land [of India] Manusmrti. हिमालयं समारभ्य यावातू इंदु सरोवरं तं देवनिर्मितं देशं हिन्दुस्तनम प्रचक्षते Himalayam samaarabhya yaavat indu sarovaram tam devanirmitam desham hindustanam prachakshate Starting from Himalayas and extending upto the Indu lake which borders on the Indian ocean, is the nation which god created and known as "hindustan" |
